Residents at Birch Grove recently put down their paintbrushes and let their creativity flow using splatter and drip techniques inspired by Jackson Po***ck. It was exciting to see artwork emerge from this freestyle form of abstract painting. Even a grandchild got into the act, which just goes to show how art connects us all no matter what your age.

Kudos to our hardworking staff who went above and beyond during our recent snow storms. ❄️
"After Monday’s big storm, I want to take a moment to recognize our wonderful managers and their incredible team. As someone who parks in our outdoor lot, I came down yesterday morning expecting the usual post-storm cleanup… and instead found not a speck of snow on my car, barely any in my parking space, and completely clear roadways. After a quick swipe of my windshield with my gloved hand, I was on my way with ease. It doesn’t happen by accident — it takes planning, hard work, and excellent management. Thank you to everyone who worked so diligently to keep our community safe and accessible. We are grateful for your dedication and professionalism! From Resident Scott H. ❄️👏

Fox Hill Village residents were connecting to a warmer place this weekend by creating "Sailor’s Valentines" with seashells from Sanibel Island, Florida 🐚

Sailor’s Valentines originated in the 19th century (circa 1830–1880). These intricately designed, glass-fronted keepsake boxes were filled with carefully arranged seashells and purchased by sailors from local artisans—most notably in Barbados—to bring home to their wives and sweethearts as tokens of love. Moments like these remind us how creativity brings people together and sparks great conversation. 🦊🐚

Fox Hill Village offers easy access to walking trails and paths both on and off our beautiful 110-acre campus. Paved paths circle our main campus — perfect for an easy stroll. They connect with natural-surface paths for longer woodland hikes and birdwatching. Sturdy shoes and, if you use them, walking poles are recommended. Trail markers make navigating easy and more than 30 tree varieties are identified along the way.

Beyond our campus, you can explore miles of trails in Lowell Woods via the Lowell Woods Connector Trail. It’s mostly flat with some inclines and leads to a conservation area that’s home to deer, hawks, owls, and a wide variety of birds.

When Ray Seymour, Fox Hill Village Director of Engineering, decided to build a tree terrace, he was careful not to leave a big footprint. Instead, he built the floor around a tree so it could continue growing undisturbed. The result is a peaceful retreat for residents and trail walkers to enjoy. It invites everyone to pause, take in the sights and sounds, and connect with nature. Thank you, Ray and team, for spending several weekends building this beautiful treehouse. It’s truly a labor of love and a generous gift to the community.

Our Winter Wonderland Tea Party was made extra special with these sweet treats! Residents enjoyed cupcakes topped with a swirl of creamy snow-blue frosting, white chocolate-covered strawberries sprinkled with festive flair, and, of course, mugs of fresh-brewed tea.

From the elegant presentation to the delicious flavors, every bite added to a cozy afternoon filled with lively conversation and warm smiles. It’s moments like these that make Birch Grove feel like home.
