Youth voices stepped forward in Mamushë/Mamuşa/Mamuša as the final stop of the journey👣.

Guided by our UNV from the K-Turkish community, young women and men from the municipality came together to place vibrant blue footsteps across the square—each one carrying a message of peace, equality, and participation. 🧡

The initiative highlights how local youth are shaping conversations on Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) and Women, Peace & Security (WPS), proving that even in the smallest communities, young people are powerful agents of change.

This action is part of the “Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality and Trust” project, jointly implemented by UNFPA Kosovo and UNDP Kosovo, with support from the UN

👣 Youth Footsteps continued in Prishtinë/Pristina as part of International Youth Day 2025. 🧡

The square came alive with foot-shaped signs, each featuring inspiring quotes from young voices—messages championing the principles of Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Women, Peace and Security (WPS). The Youth Banner offered a creative space for personal reflections, while the “Coffee with Youth Champions” corner buzzed with engaging conversations between activists, UN Volunteers, and local leaders.

Designed and led by our young project Fellows and UNVs, this initiative is part of the “Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality, and Trust” project, jointly implemented by UNDP Kosovo and UNFPA Kosovo, with support from the UN

🌍 International Youth Day 2025 – Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond 🌍

Half of the global population is under 30 — in Kosovo, that number is 46.7% (2024 Census).
Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow — they are driving change today, using digital innovation to localize and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s theme recognizes youth as essential actors in shaping inclusive and sustainable futures. From climate resilience to inclusive education, from innovation to peace-building, young people are combining community knowledge with the power of digital tools to create impact where it matters most.

On 12 August, we celebrate youth as catalysts for transformation, resilience, and hope. Their leadership, creativity, and digital skills are essential to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

💬 Share your story of youth action or digital innovation in the comments — and inspire others to join the movement!
