For those of you that don’t know, this is a foundation upon which a house is built. These foundations are laid from a blueprint. ⁣

Let’s pretend for a minute that we’re building a house. Remember that all houses are built differently and not all blueprints are the same. ⁣

Unfortunately, the situation we currently find ourselves in, has no blueprint for how to deal with it. ⁣

Some of us will binge eat. Some of us will over indulge in alcohol. Some of us will just Netflix and chill. ⁣

Some of us will strive for more. Some of us will work harder than ever. Some of us will come out of this better than we went in. ⁣

Everyone of these actions is perfectly fine, as long as your happy. We all have different blueprints and deal with crisis differently. Other’s opinions of how you’re coping do not matter. ⁣

With all that being said, remember this. The blueprint you lay out now for dealing with hard times and crisis, will most likely be the blueprint you follow the next time you fall on hard times. ⁣

You get to choose how solid a foundation you’re wanting to lay. ⁣

I hope that you can build the house of your dreams.

You have to create the time. ⁣

I set these alarm daily, so that I can create the time for myself that I need in order to succeed. ⁣

The rest of my day is for everyone else. My children, my wife and my work. ⁣

Life can get busy and pull us into many different directions. ⁣

If you don’t create time for yourself, you will constantly be serving others and forget about yourself. ⁣

This statement may seem so cliche, but it truly has a lot of validity to it.⁣

If you do not truly believe that you can change or accomplish something, you will never meet your goals. ⁣

Our beliefs have been created from our past, whether they be true or false. ⁣

Your past cannot be erased, but the negative beliefs that you carry from it, can be.⁣

Great personal growth and change can be ACHIEVED. ⁣

Only YOU control YOUR future. What you BELIEVE determines that.

Now, more than ever, what happens in the outside world is out of our control.⁣

But here’s the thing. 3 months ago you had no control what happened outside your 4 walls either, and that’s not a bad thing. Trying to control what you can not, will lead to worry, anxiety and fear. ⁣

Instead, focus on what you can control. YOUR attitude and YOUR effort. A positive attitude and effort will create an uplifting energy within yourself and within your home. ⁣

As humans we feed off of energy. If we can create positive energy within ourselves and our home, we are in control. ⁣

That being said, creating a positive environment is not easy and something that I struggle with daily. ⁣

Luckily, attitude and effort can create positive habits. Habits that will help us regain control. ⁣

Control can be a positive thing, but it’s up to YOU to decide if you want to be controlled or be in control. ⁣

These two girls are the air that i need to breathe.

Parenting is challenging at the best of times. During self-isolation, it's the ultimate test of patience.

When i decided to document my journey to become a life coach, i made a promise to myself that i would depict not only the good times, but the struggles as well.

Each day is becoming increasingly more difficult. I know that I'm not the only one, feeling the pressure of parenting young kids during these times.

Let's start with not beating yourself up. Children are resilient. Your human, you're doing your best and you're good enough.

Much like yourself, your children's world has been flipped upside down. We're creatures of habit. Habits are formed from repetition, through routine. Their routine has changed, they're frustrated, they miss school and they miss their friends and family.

Good news, just like habits and routines can be broken, new ones can be formed. Bad news, forming new habits and new routines can be challenging.

Practice patience, compassion and forgiveness, with them and yourself. They need you now more than ever.

If you take anything from this post, regardless of if you have children or not, it's that you need to be more accepting of yourself. You're doing your best. You CAN do this.

I believe in YOU! @ Hamilton, Ontario
