The Biotree Urn makes an active change to the environment that surrounds us and rehabilitates diminishing forests that we cannot sustain life without. As a business we actively engage causes and organisations that make a difference with every Biotree Urn sold, extending the environmental effect it has on the planet by assisting various organisations’ efforts to create a greener, more sustainable planet. All of our products include a unique ID that can be used to geotag and memorialise a loved one on the Biotree.earth website, this service gives people something they have never had before with cremation, the ability to leave a lasting memorial for future generations to see. Traditionally we have honored those we loved by burying their remains to return to nature when they pass. However, traditional burial is no longer sustainable and is causing an ever-expanding crisis globally, damaging the environment and using up vast amounts of space. Compostable Ash Return Bags - The compostable ash return bags addresses the current industry standard of using a plastic bag for the return of cremated remains, by offering Ash return bags made from eco-friendly materials which are compostable and stronger than the standard plastic bags. Cardboard Coffins - Used for cremation or burial, cardboard coffins are more environmentally friendly with reduced carbon emissions during cremation and less environmental impact when used for burial than that of a traditional wooden coffin. ⚠️Procedure regarding the scattering of ashes in Table Mountain National Park ⚠️

Dear Park Users,

Please be informed that Table Mountain National Park is not only a protected area under the NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: PROTECTED AREAS ACT 57 of 2003, but it is also a World Heritage site under the Cape Floral Kingdom. The park’s purpose amongst others is to preserve the ecological integrity of the area, which means that certain activities are not allowed.

The park does not allow for the burial or placement of urns in any area but we do allow for the scattering of ashes at a designated area in the park. As per the policy, visitors are welcome to send in written requests to scatter ashes in the park in memorial of their loved ones but permission must be granted by Management beforehand.

Should urns and shrines with ashes be found in a National Park, SANParks staff members will hand these over to the South African Police Services (SAPS). For more information about the scattering of ashes, please send your inquiries to Munzhedzi.Muhanelwa@sanparks.org

SANParks urges members of the public to report any illegal activities by contacting the Emergency number at 086 110 6417 if/when you see someone vandalizing the park. Visitors are kindly requested to adhere to and respect the rules of the park.
