Using a Hoberman Sphere to Teach Belly Breathing
Kids often respond best to visuals—and the Hoberman sphere is a favourite in my therapy room. It expands and contracts just like the belly should during slow, calming breaths.
Try this at home:
- Hold the sphere.
- Inhale slowly as you expand it.
- Exhale gently as you close it.
- Repeat 5–10 times.
This simple routine can help your child regulate their emotions, reduce anxiety, and build a lifelong skill for managing stress.
Remember: You don’t need fancy tools to teach mindfulness—but a fun visual can make it click.
