We were delighted to welcome a special visitor to the care home this week as part of our ongoing pet therapy sessions. Residents had the chance to meet Pinky, a lovely 4-month-old piglet, who was gentle, friendly, and full of character.

The visit brought smiles and laughter throughout the home, with many residents enjoying the opportunity to stroke and interact with Pinky. It was a wonderful experience that sparked conversations, memories, and lots of affection.

Both residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the session, and we look forward to future visits.

We were delighted to welcome the Hertfordshire Holly Morris dancing group to Woodbury Manor this afternoon.
Their lively performance, complete with colourful costumes, bells, and music, brought plenty of smiles and cheer to our residents and staff.

After the show, there was a chance for everyone to join in—and many of our residents and staff did just that! The garden was full of laughter as we had a go at some of the traditional steps ourselves.

It was a joyful afternoon that everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and we’d love to have the dancers back again soon.

We were honoured to welcome Sir David Hale, Chairman of the British Royal Veterans, and his close friend and fellow veteran, Roy, as part of our ongoing Veteran Friendly Framework initiative.

We hosted a coffee morning at our care home. Their visit created a truly special opportunity for our veteran residents to reminisce & share personal stories. The morning was filled with reflection, warmth, and meaningful connection, and will be remembered fondly by all who took part.

We are deeply grateful to Sir David and Roy for taking the time to be with us, and for so generously sharing their experiences and wisdom. Your presence had a profound impact on our residents and community.

A special thank you also goes to our dedicated VFF champions:
Jeya Piratheepan. Ceri Montagner
Richard Uchendu

Your ongoing support makes moments like these possible.

It's Wimbledon, so we wanted to enjoy some strawberries and cream and then had a few friendly games of tennis. There was a lot of laughter; the spectators also enjoyed watching the matches. ❤🍓🥎

Speedy cup game: we had so much fun playing this game. The residents had to follow my instructions by copying my movements. When I shouted CUPS! They had to grab a cup as quickly as they could. There were not enough cups for everyone! There was lots of laughter during this game!

Welcome to Woodbury Manor

Woodbury Manor was acquired by Scimitar Care Hotels group in 2010. Formerly known as Clay Hill House, the original building was built in 1853 and was known as Woodbury Manor.

Over time and with various ownerships, Woodbury Manor was converted to a hospital, when it became known as Clay Hill House, and then to a home for the elderly.

Scimitar's purchase of the property in 2010 and subsequent renovation has sought to restore the house back to its Victorian grandeur, and with this a return to its original and historic name - Woodbury Manor.

The Care Hotel is situated two miles from Enfield town centre and has four acres of mature gardens, with numerous fine specimens of Cedar, Fir and Oak trees. Woodbury Manor has fifty nine bedrooms which are situated over two floors, all rooms having en-suite facilities. It is divided into three separate wings, each having its own lounge or communal seating area. Each wing has access to, and views over, the extensive and beautiful grounds that all residents are free to enjoy at their leisure.
