Flu viruses are constantly evolving and your immunity may decline over time. Annual vaccination is recommended to give you and your loved ones the best protection.

MOH recommends that the following groups should be vaccinated for influenza annually :
- aged 65 years or older
- aged 6 months to 5 years (all)
- aged 6 months to 18 years (on chronic aspirin therapy)
- having chronic medical conditions such as diabetes mellitus, asthma, and heart disease, immunocompromised, or receiving any regular medical follow-up for chronic disease
- receiving intermediate and long term care services
- women at all stages of pregnancy

Unless contraindicated, healthcare workers and travellers will also benefit from vaccines.

As influenza vaccination is part of the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS), the recommended groups can use MediSave to pay for their influenza vaccinations.

This use of MediSave is subject to the annual withdrawal limits under the Medisave500 scheme.

Parliament: Subsidised vaccines for children and adults at all Chas GP clinics and polyclinics

Immunisations are a critical way of preventing the spread of contagious diseases, and vaccines are especially important for at-risk populations such as young children and seniors.

Singaporeans under the age of 18 will be eligible for full subsidies for vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule (NCIS) as well as childhood development screenings at all Community Health Assist Scheme (Chas) general practitioner (GP) clinics and polyclinics by the end of this year

Singaporean adults will also be eligible for means-tested subsidies for vaccinations under the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS). This includes seven types of vaccines, including those for influenza, the human papillomavirus (HPV) and pneumococcal infections.

The subsidies for adults at polyclinics are 75 per cent for the lower- to middle-income group and 50 per cent for all the others. . Read more at straitstimes.com.

HeartlandHealth Clinics have been designated by the Government as Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPC). This scheme consolidates the primary care response to emergencies such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

PHPC clinics are better-equipped to follow Ministry of Health protocols in dealing with public health emergencies including segregation of potential pandemic-affected patients as well as strict Personal Protective Equipment usage.

All our patients are given a surgical mask to wear throughout their visit in the clinic, and all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents with respiratory illnesses are eligible for the Flu Subisdy Scheme (FSS).
