Lewisburg Pediatrics partnered with Marshall County Schools to help support new teachers in need of classroom supplies before the start of the new school year. This year, the Marshall County school board connected Lewisburg Pediatrics with McKenzie Anderson, a seventh-grade teacher at Lewisburg Middle School.

Did you know that lung cancer is the third most common cancer in the U.S.? To help spread awareness, John Forstall, DO, a pulmonologist at Maury Regional Medical Group Pulmonology & Critical Care, joined 40+ members of the community last Friday, July 19 at Kiwanis Club of Columbia to present lung cancer risk factors and screening steps.

Risk factors include smoking (including secondhand smoke), radon, heavy metals (like chromium or arsenic) and some occupational exposures (paint, rubber or coal).

Many insurances cover a CT lung screening; however, patients should always contact their insurance company for verification of coverage and benefits. CT lung screening qualifications include being aged 50-77, having no signs or symptoms of lung cancer, have a to***co smoking history of at least 20 pack-years (one pack-year = smoking one pack per day for one year; 1 pack = 20 ci******es) and being a current smoker or one who has quit in the last 15 years.

Individuals or loved ones that fit these criteria and meet CT lung screening qualifications should ask their primary care provider for a referral.

Maury Regional Urent Care will be open July 4 from 9 AM - 3 PM.

Pleasant, Primary Care – Waynesboro, MRMG Pulmonary and Maury Regional Occupational Health.

Patients are encouraged to call in advance for any medication or appointment needs prior to the holiday.

On Thursday, June 13, Maury Regional Health teams gathered alongside the Wayne County Tennessee Chamber to celebrate an open house and ribbon cutting for the new Primary Care-Waynesboro location.

Primary Care – Waynesboro offers primary health care services with providers from MRMG. These services include family, geriatric and internal medicine to support ongoing, preventive care and disease management.

The modern and spacious area consists of 12 exam rooms, convenient patient parking and an expanded waiting area. An on-site laboratory is also available. The primary care team is led by Harish Veeramachaneni, MD, Paula Cole, NP, and Kendra Prater-Holt, NP.

UPDATE (6/13): Power was restored to both buildings yesterday evening. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate the understanding from our patients and visitors. We are also appreciative of all our team members and responding agencies for their quick response.
Maury Regional Health wishes to inform the public about a temporary power outage that has impacted the Maury Regional Medical Office Building and the Maury Regional Outpatient Pavilion (including LabCorp). This has not impacted the main Maury Regional Medical Center facility or inpatient care. The power is expected to be repaired within a few hours.

All primary care and specialty appointments in the Medical Office Building are being canceled for the remainder of today (June 12) and will be rescheduled. Procedures in the Outpatient Pavilion taking place today (June 12) are being relocated to the primary medical center. We will contact patients about any possible delays to further planned appointments or surgeries as needed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this incident may have caused for our patients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
