Our Certified Hypnotist, Lara Rhea, has trained for almost 20 years in the use of hypnosis for everything from weight loss to pain management and to***co cessation. She is certified in numerous areas from adults and children's nutrition, sports psychology, and health and wellness coaching. She has worked with cancer patients, people with chronic pain disorders like fibromyalgia, and those suffering from grief and loss or issues related to dying. She also enjoys working with athletes in order to help them accomplish their goals. Lara Rhea is not a lay hypnotist, while many are very good at what they do. She is a serious student of clinical hypnosis. She is currently a second-year graduate student at Lamar University (with a 4.0 GPA) in the 60-hour Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She is working to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and will continue her studies at the doctoral level at Arizona State University in Integrative Medicine/ Behavioral Health. This will allow her the privilege to work alongside medical doctors in private practice and in ER settings in order to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. She hopes to make hypnosis a part of mainstream treatment options. Imagine waiting to be seen in the ER for something incredibly painful and having a qualified, professional Hypnotist approach you to rapidly help you relax and feel comfortable before being assessed by the Physician? Lara Rhea works with people of all ages in the Austin and Houston areas. Most people can do consultations over Skype if they are not able to come to our locations. We offer group seminars at discounted rates and will allow you to put your own group together. We offer hypnosis for businesses, as well. For additional fees and travel expenses, Lara is available to travel and meet your group outside of Texas. She is also available for radio and television interviews. She does not do stage hypnosis, however. While stage hypnotists are entertaining and amusing, Lara wants to bring awareness to the profession as a serious treatment modality for clinical purposes by qualified and trained professionals who are either licensed or becoming licensed in the medical or mental health fields. To that end, she will ultimately open Clinical Hypnosis Centers of America throughout the United States, offering this fabulous treatment option to people who need it. From a hypno-lap band session to hypno-birthing, it is a scientifically proven method for reducing pain, managing weight, and so forth. Even though there is no licensing for hypnotists in the state of Texas, we follow all HIPPA laws and abide by the Ethics Code of the American Counseling Association as it relates to confidentiality and Standards of Practice. Lara is a student member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), and the American Mental Health Care Association (AMHCA).
