Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries for orthopedic patients
- Communicate with patients, surgeons, and medical staff to ensure seamless scheduling and preparation for surgical procedures
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in surgical scheduling, preferably in an orthopedic setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Proficiency in using scheduling software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus
