The Quadratus Lumborum muscle starts at the top of the pelvis and runs up to the 12th rib of the lower back on both sides of the spine. This muscle is essential for proper stabilization of the pelvis when standing, sitting or walking. It is a prime source for complaints of lower back pain. Symptoms of Quadratus Lumborum Syndrome can be described as deep, dull back aching pain and a tightness or discomfort in the lower back. Coughing and sneezing could be extremely painful in the back area. If an individual continues to experience any of these signs or symptoms, they should be seen by a specialist to rule out other causes of lower back pain. There are special maneuvers that could be performed by a specialist for a diagnosis. For additional information, you can contact California Sports & Rehab Center at (310)-652-6060 or visit our website at http://emg-ncv.com, (EMG/NCS).We can accommodate your needs in one of our convenient locations in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

Cervical Dystonia is a condition that causes the muscles in the neck to tighten in an uncontrollable way. The condition presents itself gradually. This causes great distress and pain to an individual in the neck, shoulder and head area. Here we will discuss an option that could bring relief to our patients!
Cervical Dystonia, a condition characterized by chronic neck pain, neck spasms, abnormal tilt or posture of the head. This is caused by overactive muscles in the neck. The more the muscles strain, the more pain you feel and more likely the muscles are to spasm and tighten. There is currently no cure; however botox injections directly into the neck muscles can help reduce muscle spasm and muscle tension in your neck, shoulders and head. This could help alleviate your cervical dystonia symptoms.
At California Sports & Rehab, we can localize the problem area and bring relief to our patients. Hyperhidrosis happens when the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands are overactive. An individual only sweats when to regulate body temperature to a correct homeostasis point. This is when an individual gets too hot; they sweat to bring down their temperature. But, this condition causes an individual to produce more sweat even when they are in a right temperature. Botox injections are used to essentially paralyze those overactive nerves stimulating a sweat response. When the nerves cannot signal the sweat glands, an individual does not produce sweat from those glands.
There is minimal amount of work needed to do to prepare for this procedure. In order to prepare we ask you to not shave your armpits two to three days prior to your scheduled procedure and to stop taking blood thinners in order to prevent bruising.
A patient can continue with their daily activities normally. You will see results two to seven days in the treated areas after the procedure. Usually we reschedule to see a patient two weeks after the procedure to have a check up and touch up any potentially missed areas.
We provide compassionate care for individuals that may be uncomfortable with their under arm sweating. Botox has been proven to be highly effective in treating underarm sweating. To schedule an appointment or consultation please call California Sports & Rehab at 310-652-6060.

This specific neuropathy usually begins in the legs and feet giving individual symptoms of numbness or weakness at the feet.

This condition develops due to lack of insulin and abnormal metabolism affecting nerves and blood vessels. These uncontrolled glucose levels interfere with the signals to the nerves correctly leading to diabetic neuropathy.

An individual can experience an array of symptoms with this condition. One may experience numbness in the feet, tingling or burning sensations of the legs and feet, cramping, muscle weakness, imbalance and sharp pains in the legs and feet areas. The symptom may also present as a hot object burning under you feet.

If an individual continues to experience any of these signs or symptoms, they should be seen by a specialist to determine the reason for the pain. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that involves either stretching or pressure of the ulnar nerve at the elbow. The ulnar nerve runs down from the shoulder down towards the elbow in front of the funny bone (olecranon) and continues between the muscles in the forearm and inside the hand giving sensation to the little finger and half of the ring finger, inside the palm and backside of the hand. If along the nerve there is pinching, pressure, stretching or anatomical changes this nerve may become affected giving signs and symptoms of pain, tingling sensation, loss of sensation or weakness in the hand.

If you are experiencing any numbness, tingling or loss of sensation at your fingers along with elbow pain you may need to be seen by an Electrodiagnostic Specialist (EMG/NCS). California Sports & Rehab Center can accommodate your needs in our multiple locations in the Los Angeles and Orange Country areas. Cervical Radiculopathy is a clinical condition in which the cervical nerve root is inflamed or damaged compressing the nerves from the spine. This is an irritation of the cervical nerve root that causes neurological dysfunction to various parts of the body depending on which nerve root is affected.

This condition can develop from a pinched nerve, degenerative bones, trauma, arthritis, a ruptured disc, bone spur, or any other anatomical or physiological changes that could potentially put pressure on the nerve roots.

A patient will experience chronic neck pain. They will also experience pain in the shoulders, arm, hands and upper back associated with weakness or numbness at the hands or fingers. An individual could also experience a loss of sensation. They may experience a lack of coordination and frequently drop items.

If an individual continues to experience any of these signs or symptoms, they should be seen by a specialist to determine the reason for the pain. Golfer’s Elbow is a term describing the overuse of the muscles in the forearm and wrist that enable an individual to clench, rotate, grip and flex their wrists and hands. Repeatedly using these muscles may cause microscopic tears in the tendons that connect to the boney inside region of the elbow. This condition can either gradually develop or happen after one incident. The term “Golfer’s Elbow” does not only apply to golfers. This applies to any individuals who repeatedly use their wrists and clench their fingers. This may apply to tennis players, baseball players or individuals that even carry a heavy suitcase. A patient will experience pain and tenderness on the inside of the elbow. Pain will worsen when an individual tries to extend their elbow. The elbow may also present itself as stiff and making extension of the elbow difficult. Lastly, an individual may experience weakness, numbness or tingling in the hands, wrists and the ring and little finger. If an individual continues to experience any of these signs or symptoms, they should be seen by a specialist to determine the reason for the pain. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that involves either stretching or having pressure of the ulnar nerve at the elbow.
This develops when an individual excessively bends the elbow, such as sleeping with your elbow bent or answering phone calls or leaning on your elbow for long periods of time. In order to potentially reduce the symptoms, try sleeping with your elbow straight, not bending and leaning on your elbow and avoiding excessive, repetitious activities that require bending of the elbow. If the pain and numbness persist, the nerve may need to be examined.
To determine this syndrome you must see an Electrodiagnostic Specialists for a nerve test (EMG/NCS). California Sports & Rehab Center can accommodate your needs in our multiple locations in the Los Angeles and Orange Country areas. Please visit us at http://emg-ncv.com/ or call our office at (310)-652-6060 to schedule an appointment today!
