Grace joined McKinney Family Dentistry in February of 2021 as our assistant. She loves to do ceramics, paint, hike, play with her cats, and travel, keeping busy while her husband is on deployment.

Melissa J. joined McKinney Family Dentistry in 2018. She enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking with the family, going on vacation, and hanging out with friends. She has two boys and a yellow lab.

Carsen is a senior at Del Norte High School and began interning with us this past Summer. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, playing instruments and being a part of her school’s track and field team. She will be attending PLNU as a political science major in the fall.

Wanda attended Westbrook College and the University of New England and is a registered dental hygienist; she has been with McKinney Family Dentistry for the past six years. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family and is a devoted rescue dog mom, volunteer of veterans and animal rescue groups, and an avid reader.

Dr. Shawn Ranejat grew up in Northern California and attended school at UC Berkeley and UCSD before receiving his DDS from The University of Oklahoma in 1987. Subsequently, he returned to San Diego and established his dental practice “Mercado Dental” in Rancho Bernardo where he practiced for 28 years. Dr. Ranejat enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, swimming, hiking, as well as cooking. “I am really excited to return part time to clinical dentistry and honored to be part of a great team at McKinney Family Dentistry.”

Melissa K. started as a dental assistant at McKinney Family Dentistry in 2012 and is now the Hygiene Coordinator. In her spare time, Melissa likes to spend time with her kids, exercise, hike, shop, binge-watch any good series, and read when she can find a good book.

Dr. Chris McKinney graduated from the University of Oklahoma and moved to San Diego in 2004. In 2006, Dr. McKinney joined the practice as an associate for Dr. Brannon and later bought the practice in July of 2012. In his spare time, Chris enjoys hanging out with family and friends, spending time outdoors, exercising, reading, and working on home projects.
