What are Di**os?

Navigating Nonmonogamy in a Mononormative World.

Join us! On Tuesday August 26 Come As You Are and welcome authors Andrea Zanin and Marla Schreiber for a reading and discussion.

It’s undeniable that we live in a mononormative society. From the concept of a “plus one” to insurance benefits for married couples and legal forms with room for just one emergency contact, mononormativity and couple’s privilege are prevalent. And although we might be aware of this, many of us can find ourselves unintentionally reproducing mononormative principles in our nonmonogamous relationships.

Join Andrea Zanin, co-author of More Than Two, Second Edition, and Marla Schreiber, creator of PolyaMarla and author of Nonmongamy and Defying a Paradigm, for a conversation about mononormativity’s impact from both a philosophical lens and a practical perspective. Together, they will examine cultural norms and values, highlighting where mononormativity can slip in unperceived, and encourage the audience to consider their own preconceptions.
