At Physical Evolution, you may have seen or used our whole body vibration machine, also known as a Hypervibe machine. A Hypervibe is a full body vibration platform that provides high frequency vibrations and increases the amount of gravity the body is feeling.
Research shows that WBV can benefit individuals with both low and high tone and has incredible clinical potential for patients with a range of neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, and Spinal Cord Injury.
WBV can increase muscle strength, improve bone health, improve balance and coordination, reduce tone and spasticity and stimulate the vestibular system, all at once!!
If you would like to learn how our Hypervibe can help you in your rehab journey, give the clinic a call on 5636 9458.

Here is a snapshot comparison of Jason using our LiteGait technology in Week 1 and Week 3 of his intensive therapy.
Jason’s ongoing hardwork and dedication resulted in large physiological improvements. By the end of the three weeks he demonstrated:
🔹 Reduced dystonic (involuntary muscle) contractions
🔹 Increased lower limb range of motion
🔹 Improved posture and head control
🔹 Improved coordination of lower limbs
🔹 Increased cardiovascular fitness
🔹 Improved blood pressure
🔹 Improved over mental health and wellbeing
Keep up the great work Jase!

At Physical Evolution, we like to add some excitement into your sessions by using BlazePods. Blazepods are a light-based reflex training system that bring an element of fun to our sessions, offering an engaging way to improve your agility, balance, coordination or reaction time.
Whether you experience difficulties with balance, coordination or complications from mobility, you will benefit by engaging in reaction time training.
Your reaction time is incredibly important for your everyday life. It keeps you safe and ensures that your body is primed to move whenever it needs to. Many every day activities such as walking, cooking and driving, require you to respond to visual stimulus, and ultimately, can be enhanced with reaction time training.

Due to the complex nature of Jason’s dystonia, a neurological condition causing involuntary muscle contractions, he has significant difficulties with controlled movement that impacts his activities of daily living.
In this video, Toby, one of our Exercise Physiologists, is getting Jase to complete a bilateral rowing exercise. He is encouraging Jase to watch, slow down and isolate his arm movements.
Research has shown that individuals with dystonia are able to control co-contractions, or unwanted muscle activations, significantly when visual feedback is provided. By bringing Jase’s attention to a motor activity, and getting him to control and slow it down, he is providing his nervous system with visual feedback and developing his ability to control unwanted muscle contractions.

Here you can see Ange completing a balance activity whilst pushing a ladder, with assistance from our ceiling hoist.
Balance training is an imperative part of neurological rehabilitation and helps reduce falls, improve posture, and improve locomotor performance. Reduced balance and mobility may limit activities of daily living or participation in the community.
Our team at Physical Evolution are experienced in assessing and managing the balance problems associated with a range of neurological conditions. We can create a individualised program designed to suit your current ability level and your goals, considering factors such as your lifestyle, home environment and medication.

Here you see Ange using our MOTOmed equipment.
The MOTOmed is a piece of exercise equipment specifically designed to assist the rehabilitation of those with mobility challenges by using movement therapy. It can train arms and legs simultaneously or individually.
A regular MOTOmed eases spasms, loosens and strengthens the skeletal muscle mass, improves mobility, positively influences bowel and bladder function, stimulates blood circulation in the legs, reduces edema and stabilizes the emotional state of health.

In this video, you can see Charlotte, a 24 year old girl, with the diagnosis of Rett Syndrome, walking on a treadmill, in a safe supported environment.
This activity promotes continuous walking at a constant speed, which is something that individuals with Rett struggle to do independently. Walking is a vital component of health for individuals living with Rett Syndrome, and significantly contributes to their overall quality of life.
At Physical Evolution, exercise interventions for those living with Rett Syndrome, aim to preserve or enhance functional abilities and autonomy.

Meet Jason. He is an 18 year old young man with a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.
We met Jason following a surgery to improve his lower limb contractures and increase his ability to straighten his legs with the goal of bearing weight and stand again.
In this video Jason is working hard using our LiteGait technology which is a gait training device that controls weight bearing, posture and balance.
Jason spends most his day in his wheelchair and the LiteGait’s unique harness allows him to be upright which has many functional benefits.
The LiteGait can:
- Increase range of motion and mobility
- Improve circulation
- Improve bone density and muscle health
- Reduce muscle spasms
- Create an enjoyable experience out of the wheelchair
- Provide the ability to take independent steps
We love working with Jase and can’t wait to see his progression!
