The new scheme will operate via a prepayment certificate (PPC) costing less than £20 a year. As well as cutting the cost of hormone replacement therapy treatment, the scheme is also beneficial for those new to HRT or those who are struggling to get the right balance of medication; as it means that women will also be able to more freely try alternative HRT regimes without worrying about the cost.
