While it was never my intention to disappear without notice, i've been battling an intense resistance to social media that has left me unable to even jump in to provide a quick update!! 🤔🤪

I thought it would settle when the new year ticked over but sadly it has not. I know social media platforms are fantastic ways to advertise business and i'm super duper grateful for what it has done for my business....but for now I am honouring my feelings and will continue to take time out from social media.

Not Bolognese - rich, chunky sauce that has past the test from the most diehard carnivores....with the added bonus of being full of bioavailable nutrients.

Chilli Sauce - it's pretty hot but balanced with a great depth of flavour.

I begin this post with a massive apology for not communicating with you all about what is happening.....I hope you will forgive me 🙏🙏

I took some time out from the markets and it flew by so quickly!! I wasn't quite ready to decide what to do........and really struggling with my ability/desire to connect to social media of late 🙃🤯🙃

While we're not yet experiencing the typical Queensland summer heat, as we move closer to summer I've been concerned about selling frozen meals at the markets without compromising the integrity of the meals you have purchased.

So I've decided not to continue with the markets for now. I hope this doesn't cause too much inconvenience for you and would love to continue to provide clean, wholefood nourishment to you all 🙏💚🙏

Fortunately I have my website and order form as an easy way to purchase meals. My plan is to focus on online sales for pick up in Buderim, and invest time in planning the best way to offer delivery where pick up isn't practical.

If you would usually purchase from the markets or interested in delivery options, please contact me to discuss.

I've also had a few cherished supporters offer their businesses as pick up points so this is also a possibility. If you would love to have your favourite local business be one of those pick up points, please contact me so I can connect with them.

I'm always grateful for feedback and love to chat with my customers so please don't hesitate in contacting me and I will endeavour to step up my social media a little more to keep you in the loop.

This week's salad is Asian Brown Rice Salad made from biodynamic brown rice, loads of fresh crunchy vegetables & toasted seeds with a tamari sesame dressing. It's so versatile.....fabulous on it's own, great for added bulk in a wrap or you could lightly stir fry it and make San Choy Bao.

Zucchini Quinoa Fritters will be available but I'm not sure about a high nutrient dip. I was away for the week so no ability to soak any legumes in preparation but I have a few ideas so let's see what evolves 😁

When my vision of Little Green Heart was unfolding, the desire to share information and educate was one of my driving forces.

With so much confusion about what is "good" and what is "bad", it can make it very overwhelming to know what is right for our body and to listen to what it needs.

No matter what label you put on the eating regime you follow, it needs to be clean and chemical free with minimal processing to ensure your body can receive what it needs.

It's for these reasons that I have attracted many customers with auto-immune challenges and those with chemical sensitivities. These people often tell me they never buy pre-made meals because it's just not worth the pain afterwards.

Can you imagine the joy I feel when they come back to me saying they love my meals and their relief that they don't have to cook their own food every single day!?! 😍🙏😍

It was only after chatting to a friend in Brisbane I realised I should have let you all know sooner that I will be heading down and can offer meals to you!!!

I am super excited for two market days this weekend....I have missed you Fishermans Road markets!!!! 😍💚

I always find it interesting to see what flows when I connect within to decide what I'm cooking fresh.....it seems we're all about orange this week!!!

For me orange represents summer, warmth and joy so it's not surprising that it's the colour of the sacral chakra which represents passion and creativity 🧡

For the first time this season, I've made my Orange Millet Salad with Roast Sweet Potato. Creamy Millet soaks up the punchy orange dressing balanced with the crunch of capsicum & cucumber.

Millet is high in carbs so if you're focused on a keto diet, this one may not be for you....but if you consider that carbohydrates are the most important nutrient for body and brain function, I recommend a balanced approach 😉

Roast Pumpkin Hummus is back and wow the pumpkin was a sweetie this week! Don't worry though, it's balanced with lemon and spices 🙏

For those of you who missed out last week, I've made more Not Bolognese so I have plenty for you!!!! The best thing about this one is it's shelf stable, a great option if you have no room in the freezer 🙌🙌

In my experience, the easiest road to health is when we can find balance….that delicate middle point that may move, depending on what is happening in your life.

There are times when it’s necessary to eliminate some foods in order to hasten the healing process. How easy or challenging this is for you might be influenced by how focussed you are on your “why”.

Sometime after a period of elimination you may find you never need or want to eat that food again, or you might go back to it in moderation.

If you’re healing any ailments associated with inflammation, there is no question that dairy will not be your friend, even if you don’t notice any reaction. If you have never cut it from your diet, I recommend you giving it a go for a period and notice how your body feels.

The thing to remember is that animal products do not contain any fibre so it’s important to ensure you eat them with a healthy dose of fibre rich foods which help them move through your digestive system before they can cause toxicity in your body.

And if you are going to eat bread, I encourage you to be picky with where you get it from. Sour dough is all the rage but they’re not all made equal. Choose organic to ensure your wheat hasn’t been doused with chemicals prior to harvest and ask your baker how they make their sour dough. This one pictured comes from the Wonky Loaf and I love it!!!! Their bread goes through 36 hour fermentation process which means the indigestible parts of wheat can be broken down. This makes it easier to digest and the nutrients more bioavailable to give your body more than just a dose of carbs.

I’m a platter queen from way back….in those early days it was coloured pickled onions, cubed cheese, cabana and jatz crackers!!! These days I love a plethora of healthy options balanced with some carefully chosen goodies to ensure everyone gets what they love!! 🙏 💚

Here you have market fresh veggies....plus snow peas that were literally picked 5 minutes before this photo! My caramelised onion and white bean dip, zucchini quinoa fritters, home cured olives, the crackers are clean with no numbers and the cheeses are well aged.......now that's what I call balance!!!! 😍

Yes I know you're busy and there is never enough hours in the day!!! 😜😭

But what if this could be your mantra once a day, once every few days, or even once a week if it feels like an impossible ask.....?

While we're often too busy to acknowledge it, we inherently know we finish more tasks faster and more accurately if we focus on just one at a time...so why don't we do just that?

Whether you're walking for exercise or relaxation, if your sole focus is on walking you will certainly achieve a deeper level of your goal if you are focused on walking.....engaging all muscles for exercise....noticing the nature around you for relaxation.

If you're eating while doing other things, it's unlikely you've taken a moment to appreciate what you're about to consume, so your digestion doesn't get a chance to fire up......

You will likely eat far quicker if you are distracted and therefore not chew your food as much as ideal.......

If you are on the move, your body is confused....is it supposed to be providing energy for movement or energy for digesting?!

It's likely movement will win and your digestion will suffer....indigestion, reflux, bloating and on a more subtle level, it's likely that the absorption of nutrients is detrimented.

So my challenge for you this weekend is to create some space to focus on just one thing at a time.....and pay attention to how it feels.

Before you eat, appreciate your meal with your eyes first, then take a long inhale, give your digestion a chance to prepare. Try to chew that first mouthful longer than you would usually before you swallow.....savour the taste, appreciate the textures.

Can you spend the entire meal solely focussed on eating, no distractions?? What do you notice in your body? Maybe nothing....or maybe something you've never noticed before. Maybe you simply enjoy that meal more than ever before. There are no wrong experiences, simply an opportunity to notice. 🙏✌️💚
