It is normal to feel scared, anxious, stressed, sad, confused, mad, or overwhelmed in a time of crisis. In a time like this, it is important to make sure you take care of both your physical and mental well-being. To help reduce stress we came up with a few tips to help you out!

-Talk with people you trust. Set up a phone call or video chat with your family, friends, and loved ones.
-Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Make sure you are getting proper nutrition, sleep, exercise, and socialization.
-Maintain a daily routine
-Get the facts. Gather information from credible resources such as the World Health Organization or the Government of Canada websites.
-Take time each day to do mindful and stress-reducing exercises: journal, meditate, color, yoga/stretching, or guided breathing/body scan exercises.
-Limit the amount of time spent watching, reading, or listening to media coverage that is upsetting to you.
-Acknowledge that your feeling is valid. If you are feeling overwhelmed, talk with a health care worker or counselor.

Whats your favorite method of consuming cannabis? Did you know that if you use a vaporizer you can use your AVB (Already Vaped Bud) to make cannabis infused edibles?

Various methods and recipes exist, often times individuals will mix their AVB with a carrier oil (Coconut oil, Olive Oil, etc) in a slow cooker and set it on low for several hours.

Below we have attached a few links of some different ways to use your AVB.

Recently, cannabis-infused edibles have become legal for sale in Canada! These edibles include infused snacks, desserts, drinks, teas, and more.

Dosing with edibles can be tricky, which is why it is important to START LOW and GO SLOW. The effects of edibles can take between 2-3 hours to kick in, and the effects can last anywhere from 4-12 hours. The most common mistake people make is taking another dose after taking the initial dose due to impatience. For some, this can cause some unpleasant side effects.

Did you know that chocolate can help support your endocannabinoid system? Yum! Cacao powder contains three compounds that are very similar to endocannabinoids. These compounds have minor cannabinoid-like activity of their own and they help prevent the breakdown of your body's own endocannabinoid system, which, allows for higher endocannabinoid levels. Dark chocolate and cacao powder tend to have the highest concentrations of these compounds and it can also be helpful for preventing heart disease!

Happy October! This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast Cancer starts when the cells in the breast behave abnormally and form a cancerous (malignant) tumour in a group of cancer cells. These cells can grow and destroy nearby tissue and can also metastasize in other parts of the body. It is estimated in 2019, that 26,900 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Regular self breast exams along with other screening methods are important methods for early detection of breast cancer. To read more check out the Canadian Cancer Society.

Did you know that cannabis was once used in place of modern medicines to treat various diseases and illnesses? In 1924 the Sajous's Analytic Cyclopedia of Practical Medicine concluded cannabis could be used in the treatment of migraines, coughing, inflammation, as well as diseases such as tetanus, rabies, and gonorrhea. After having a steady rise in popularity, modern medicines and vaccines became available for diseases such as tetanus and other diseases which caused a dramatic decline in medical cannabis. The development of the hypodermic needle and its easy ability to administer op**tes could be one of the main factors in the decline of medical cannabis.

Today medical cannabis is making a come back! If you are curious about medical cannabis or if you are ready to start your journey then be sure to check out our website or give us a call to find out more information!

Today: Sesquiterpenes!
One of the most abundant type of terpenes found in the cannabis plant! Sesquiterpenes are responsible for attracting pollinating insects while repelling harmful ones, as well as possibly repelling herbivores.

The biggest difference from closely related monoterpene, it's less volatile.
This type of terpene has the ability to pass the brain blood barrier, showing promising possible applications in the future.

Some examples of sesquiterpenes include Humulene and Beta-caryophyllene.

Your turn! Grab your bud and try to identify which scent is more pronounced! No pungent smell? Maybe you have low quality cannabis in front of you! Share the photo of your product and let us know what you can smell!

Talk to your Cannabis Coach about how to identify a high quality product. 🍁

The first round started in October 17, 2018, and now we are headed to the second round of regulations, allowing a whole category of products to be made available. 🍁 🇨🇦

Its Cannabinoid Monday!
CBDV also known as Cannabidivarin

CBDVA, like THCVA, is formed when an enzyme reacts with CBGVA. When CBDVA decarboxylates, CBDV is created. Cannabis plants with relatively high levels of CBDV have been found in feral populations of indicas from northwest India, Pakistan and Mexico. Although there is limited research on this minor cannabinoid, some studies have shown it's anti-convulsive and nausea relieving properties.

some possible issues it can help to relieve:
Seizures
Crohn’s
HIV/AIDS
Multiple Sclerosis
