I did not want to work out this afternoon.
I slept badly (that’s a whole other story) and I had to literally prise myself out of bed.
But I know if I just start by doing a half hour, I will probably do an hour and some stretching and feel better after.
So upper body (bit space restricted-part of the whole other story) and used all my dumbbell manifestations lol

It starts with that level of simplicity.
Keep it simple, keep it sweet.
Once they are on, I find I cannot help but move!

As I get older I seem to have to work harder to stay functional.
I rely heavily on lists, rewards, snacks, planning and ability to let go and breathe when it all goes wrong.
I have also learnt that's it ok to have non-functioning days, this does not mean that I am useless!
I have spent my life over achieving and sometimes a non-functioning day is actually a needed day of rest and recuperation, which yes does go against the grain, but I am learning to accept these days.

Why do I lift?
I know that lifting requires dedication, routine, focus and desire.
I know that lifting makes me feel alive, empowered and makes the rest of the day much more tolerable.
I know that lifting makes me strong physically & mentally & emotionally.
I know that I hold myself differently when I lift, not just because of the strength but also because of the confidence it gives me.
Right now, its the thing I look forward to most in my day.

It’s a nice and easy Sunday today so taking it easy with some yoga.
I had a whole week of getting back into my heavy weights (forgot how much I love that) so my body aches today but in a good way!
Other than that it’s time to catch up in the garden, the laundry bin and lasagna later!

Not for everyone but roadkill dinner always makes us REALLY happy.
FREE food.
WILD food.
DENSE nutrition.
This muntjac lived a happy free wild life and was killed instantly so the meat is REALLY clean.
Yes you need to know how to prep and butcher but we think that is an essential skill.
Eating roadkill also gives us a new respect for our creatures and our world every time.
It’s an honour and a privilege to eat such fresh clean meat and we never take it for granted.
Rick cooked this with triple cooked chips, creamy mushroom sauce and mixed veg.
Yum yum!

We got this at and loads of weights at a scrapyard one day for £20.
Fitness needs to be functional not fancy for me!
