Deloris Akins is a counseling student at the University of The Cumberlandβs, pursuing her Masterβs Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Kimberly S. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Deloris is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.
Deloris provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families struggling with trauma, self-esteem, anxiety, grief, blended families, and depression. She is passionate about self-love and goes by the mantra βI am good enoughβ. Along with her education, she has completed Compassion Fatigue Education and Compassion Fatigue Therapist certifications with Green Cross. Her counseling approach is based on the needs of her clients.
Deloris counseling approach is based on a combination of Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Play Therapy depending on the needs of the client. Person-Centered Therapyβs goal is to help the clients achieve independence and integration so they can better cope with problems as they identify them. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy involves a learning process where clients acquire and practice new skills; learn new ways of thinking and more effective ways of coping with problems. Play Therapy provides selected play materials and facilitates the development of a safe relationship for clients to fully express and explore self through play.
Chezzadi Keelen is a Professional School Counselor who holds a masterβs in education. She feels that helping children is just not enough; her ultimate goal is to make a difference in the lives of individuals of all ages. Chezzadi believes that she has an ethical and professional responsibility to guide individuals, of all walks of life, down a mentally healthy path. She is a graduate student at Lamar University, studying to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Chezzadi is pursuing a certification in Mental Health Counseling. She is a current member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. Chezzadi is currently practicing under the supervision of Brianna Roberts, M.A., LPC.
Chezzadi provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families that are facing challenges such as stress, grief, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, depression, relationship issues, anger management, and/or cultural issues/identities. She also has enhanced knowledge on working with individuals who are experiencing sociocultural issues. She prides herself on being culturally competent, compassionate, empathetic, and a great communicator who creates a space where clients feel emotionally safe. She believes that healing can take place in a non-judgmental environment where clients are able to express themselves and share their feelings. Therefore, Chezzadi thrives on building a therapeutic alliance with each client in an effort to help them achieve their ultimate goals.

Mai Lee has spent over 19 years serving in the United States Army, which has provided her experience in high stress and high anxiety environments. It has assisted in developing solution focused and choice theory skills that she applies to counseling. Her military career has provided perspective on understanding a multitude of lifeβs challenges and has allowed her to incorporate a multi-cultural perspective to counseling.
Mai Lee Eskelund is currently pursuing a masterβs degree in Professional Counseling specializing in Clinical Mental Health at Stephen F. Austin State University. Upon graduation, she intends to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and is currently practicing under the supervision of Maggie Chlebana, M.S., LPC.
Keli is a Masterβs level student intern at Kimberly Boyd Counseling Center. She is currently practicing under the supervision of Kimberly S. Boyd, M.S., LPC-S. Keli earned her undergraduate degree at Southern New Hampshire University in Sociology, and is finishing her Masterβs of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She is a member of the Wisconsin Counseling Association in good standing. Keli has experience with treating a number of mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression, grief, various forms of abuse, and LGBT+ concerns. Her approach to these issues is tailored specifically to the clientβs needs, and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (talk therapy), Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Keli believes each client has the power within themselves to overcome challenges, and attain a more centered life.
