St. Luke’s Health is inviting local non-profit organizations to consider applying for grants that support the delivery of services vital to improving health and well-being, and improving health equity. The application period opened June 17 and runs through August 16, 2024. 🌟 We're proud to share that representatives from St. Luke’s Health attended the 2024 Texas Association of Hospital Volunteers Conference in San Marcos! The TAHV supports healthcare volunteers with educational opportunities and scholarships.

This year, Mary Pfeffer from Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center was installed as the new TAHV president, and Dave Westerhaus from Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center became President Elect for 2024-2025.

“It was a valuable experience and an opportunity we truly appreciate,” said Candy Wadsworth, President, SLHM Lufkin. We look forward to applying the knowledge gained to benefit our local program.

Animal Assisted Therapy helps improve physical, social, emotional or cognitive functioning of people in hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other similar settings.
