“A total of 60 LDH patients were equally randomized into warming needle moxibustion group and conventional acupuncture group. Patients of the conventional acupuncture group were treated by puncturing lumbar Jiaji (EX-B 2), Huantiao (GB 30), Weizhong (BL 40), and Yanglingquan (GB 34) with filiform acupuncture needles. Patients of the warming needle moxibustion group were treated by puncturing the same 4 acupoints, and with the acupuncture needle in lumbar EX-B 2 attached an ignited moxa-stick segment. The treatment in both groups lasted for 30 min every time, once every other day for 15 times, with 5 times being a therapeutic course and two days’ rest between every two courses.”

The negative press has had a tremendous impact on the consumption of beef, and subsequently, the consumption per capita in the U.S. has steadily declined.

This is, in part, from a lack of understanding of red meat as a nutritionally important source of amino acids (taurine and hydroxyproline), dipeptides (carnosine and anserine), and creatine (a metabolite of amino acids). 

It's a well-documented source of high-quality protein, bioavailable vitamins and minerals, and the nutrients listed above - which are under-appreciated. 

Taurine, carnosine, anserine, and creatine are particularly abundant in beef but are absent from plants. Hydroxyproline can be found in a few plant sources but doesn't contain a significant amount.

If we shift the focus from protein to other nutrients, the importance of animal-based products still continues to be self-evident, specifically red meat.

Some beneficial nutrients in red meat that you may not be aware of are as follows: 

✔️Taurine is a nutritionally essential amino acid for children (particularly preterm infants) and conditionally essential amino acid for adults.

It helps form bile salts that help absorb dietary lipids and vitamins and eliminate cholesterol. It is a major antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory effects.

✔️Carnosine reduces lipid oxidation and augments the restoration of blood glutathione. 

✔️Creatine is essential for energy metabolism in the brain and skeletal muscle. It has also been used to improve cognitive function and reduce traumatic brain injury.

These are only a FEW examples. Perhaps we should broaden the conversation of “high-quality protein” to the nutrient-dense food matrix that beef actually is.

Repost From BREAKING: The FDA has approved the first GMO cow for human food consumption. The GMO short-haired cow was created using risky genetic engineering technology called CRISPR. Studies show that CRISPR can cause off-target and unpredictable effects on the organism. But industry has managed to lobby its way to de-regulation of CRISPR-created (aka gene-edited) organisms so there will be no GMO label required. They haven't been safety tested and there is no proof the meat is safe to eat.

The short-haired gene is "naturally occurring" which means that there are natural short-haired cows. If short-haired cows already exist, then why are these crazy people genetically engineering cows? Breeding them naturally wouldn't allow them to be patented and they wouldn't be able to pad their profits. There is no need for these GMO cows and we call BS.

NOTE that GMO cows are not allowed in organics, but they will likely be allowed in Grass-Fed, since GMO alfalfa is allowed and CRISPR has been deregulated. We are in the process of reaching out to the American Grassfed Assoc. and will confirm their position when we have clarification. Always choose Certified Organic or Biodynamic (plus Non-GMO Project Verified if available) along with Pasture-Raised/Grass Fed/Finished labels.
