π Journaling has helped many people heal from pain. β¨
I encourage women who are journaling to write about the frustration, anxiety, depression, stress, or experiences right now in their life. By journaling your mood or emotions, you can release negative thoughts. π I always encourage ending your journaling session by writing what you are grateful for at that moment. π By focusing on the present, we can let go of those stressors and move toward the future. π
You may find when you are journaling that trauma from your past may come up and that is okay. π If those traumas from your past are coming up, you may need to seek out a therapist to deal with those because that could be keeping you stuck in your pain. ποΈ
You can also do pain journaling. This includes the following:
βοΈUse the 0-10 rating system in daily entries. π
βοΈUse descriptive words of the pain experienced, such as burning, pulsating, throbbing, aching, or tingling. π₯π’π₯π«π€
βοΈRecord the time of day heightened pain occurs. β°
βοΈNote external factors, such as cooler temperatures or rain. π§οΈβοΈ
βοΈInclude the location of the pain. π
βοΈList any non-medical therapies used to control pain, such as a warm shower, yoga, meditation, aromatherapy, or exercise, and the effectiveness of these treatments. πΏπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈποΈββοΈπΏ
βοΈInclude medication schedules and any side effects experienced. ππ
π€
βοΈDocument the duration, frequency, and intensity of pain episodes. β±οΈππ₯
βοΈNote eating and drinking habits and their effect on pain levels. π½οΈπ₯€π
βοΈInclude any experienced emotions in the journal. πππ’
βοΈNote if pain interrupted daily activities, such as walking, sleeping, exercising, or working. πΆββοΈπ΄ποΈββοΈπΌ
βοΈNote: You donβt have to write down every time you are having pain. That could be exhausting. Just write in your journal once a day so you keep track of any increased pain or different pain. β³π‘
Itβs OK if journaling doesnβt work for you because what works for one person doesnβt always work for the next. π€·ββοΈ
