“My grandma taught me that some people are not going to have individuals in their corner cheering them on, and it’s our job to be everyone’s biggest cheerleader. And so, I walk throughout life trying to be the biggest cheerleader for others. In the clinic, patients come in and aren’t feeling great but if you treat them like you’re on their team, then they walk out feeling so accepted and so taken care of. We want them to walk out feeling better all around, not just physically but emotionally & mentally as well. I remind myself of that- that everyone needs a cheerleader on their side and a lot of people don’t have it.”

Pink eye, also known as conjunctivitis, is the inflammation or infection of the membrane covering the white part of your eye and the inner surface of the eyelid.

Viral conjunctivitis🦠🤧: Looks like red, runny eyes caused by a viral illness such as the flu, cough, or even COVID. You may experience other viral symptoms like a runny nose or a cough. Treatment includes artificial tears or calming drops as well as warm and cool compresses for cleansing & soothing your eyes.

Bacterial conjunctivitis👁️💧: Looks like one red eye with discharge that may be yellow caused by a bacterial infection. Treatment includes prescription antibacterial eyedrops and comfort measures like a warm compress and rinsing with baby shampoo or an eyelid cleanser.

Allergic conjunctivitis🐈️🍂: Looks like red, runny eyes with clear discharge caused by contact with outdoor or indoor allergens such as pollen, mold spores, dust, & pet dander. You may experience other allergic reactions like sneezing. Treatment includes antihistamine eye drops - either over-the-counter or prescription strength - as well as warm and cool compresses for cleansing and soothing your eyes.

Did you wake up with a red, irritated eye? Maybe a bit of discharge, and light sensitivity? You may have pink eye.

There are three types of pink eye, also called conjunctivitis - Allergic, Viral, and Bacterial. They have different sources and therefore may need to be treated differently.

Most of us know pink eye as bacterial conjunctivitis which requires a prescription of antibacterial eye drops. Coming to see a Citra provider will enable you to receive an accurate diagnosis of the symptoms you’re experiencing.

When you’re caring for pink eye at home, four things will help alleviate symptoms and get you feeling better— faster!

1. A warm compress of a washcloth with warm water to rinse the eye.
2. Baby shampoo or eyelid cleanser to clean the eye.
3. Antibacterial eye drops, prescribed by your provider.
4. A cold compress to relieve any pain.
Using these four things two or three times a day should help you get back to your normal routine!

Meet Amanda Barragan! She’s a provider at our North Dallas clinic. Her passion for helping others motivated her to join the healthcare industry. While the more intense parts of working in an ER/Trauma field may deter some people, Amanda actually enjoys helping patients in the emergency environment and worked as an ER/trauma nurse for 8 years earlier in her career.

On her days off she likes to spend time with her family & friends. Her 1- and 4-year-old keep her family busy! She loves to travel, workout, & dance! In Dallas, her favorite restaurant is Mesero, Mi Cocina, or really anywhere she can find good Mexican food and a fun environment. 💃🌮

Out of Pocket? Deductible? Copay? Insurance can be confusing — we get it! In this video, our Founder and CEO, Dr. Nick Karr explains the basics of how the cost of your visit is determined.

During COVID, the government enacted the CARE Act which declared that insurance must cover 100% of a patient’s visit if the visit was COVID-related. This means you may have been to see us in the past and not received a bill. However, since we are no longer in a public health emergency, payment responsibility is based on your insurance coverage.

Ft Worth on W 7th and Hurst on Grapevine Hwy are closing early at 4pm.
