Global Pop—formerly known as IFAP Supporting patient care, training & education, and research across the world’s spectrum of resource-poor settings and medically underserved populations.

The Program for Global and Population Health, previously known as the IFAP Global Health Program, seeks to support the emergence of a new generation of leaders in global and population health, whether abroad or at home, through research, education & training, and patient care. We provide education to Columbia University professional, graduate, and undergraduate students through pedagogy and in-fi

eld experiences. Central to their education is exposure to a wide variety of disciplines that relate to health, not just medicine, dentistry, nursing, nutrition and public health but also international policy, climate change, and sustainable development. Wherever possible, we seek to link students’ international or domestic global health experiences— whether gained through research, patient care, or the acquisition of cultural insight and language skills— to efforts to improve the health care of immigrants in the United States.
