Behavioral Signs:
πŸ“‰πŸ“š Changes in Performance: A drop in school performance or a lack of concentration on tasks could be subtle signs. These might not be obvious unless a pattern forms over time.
πŸ‘₯❌ Avoidance of Social Interaction: While teens often seek privacy, an increased avoidance of social interactions and activities can be a sign of deeper issues.
Physical Signs:
πŸ›οΈβ²οΈ Altered Sleep Patterns: Sleeping too much or too little, or complaining of always feeling tired despite adequate sleep.
πŸ΄βž•βž– Eating Habit Changes: Significant changes in appetite or weight, which could either be eating less or more than usual.
Emotional Outbursts:
😒😑 Unexplained Crying or Anger: Sudden tears or anger that seem disproportionate to the situation can be indicators of emotional distress.
Expressed Feelings of Hopelessness:
πŸ—¨οΈπŸš« Pessimistic Statements: Making statements about hopelessness, worthlessness, or a bleak future can often be brushed aside as dramatics but might indicate deeper emotional turmoil.

Once you've set boundaries, it's important to nurture and maintain them to protect your well-being. Here are three tips to help you keep your boundaries strong:
1. Stay consistent: Be firm and consistent in upholding your boundaries. Remember that boundaries are about changing your behavior, not attempting to change the behavior of others.

It seems a common practice this year to choose a single word to guide one's goals for the year. It has been amazing to observe the influence a single word can have on the mind. I have been inspired by this idea and decided on my own succinct theme for 2019. My word for this year is "Abundance". I have noticed that each day, the word abundance has taken root in my thoughts. I catch myself in a scarcity mindset and day by day that mindset gets easier to replace with an attitude of abundance. This experience reminded me of a book that my husband recommended to me entitled "What to Say When You Talk to Yourself" by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. Dr. Helmstetter lays out the basic functioning of the brain and teaches the power of positive self-talk. In this video he talks about the personal results he has seen from listening to positive self-talk. Has anyone practiced this method? What other methods and tools do you use to create change in your lives?
