Assisted stretching is a form of stretching in which a ‘flexologist’ (professional stretch therapist) exerts gentle force upon the limb to move it into a new position, holding it for a specific amount of time in order to lengthen and stretch the muscle fibre and tissue. This helps to create alignment in the muscle and body and contributes to improving flexibility, increased muscle control and an expanded range of motion.

Our Story

At Stretch Studio, we love stretching. We’re obsessed, really. Why do we love stretching so much? There are many reasons why flexibility is important for your body - from increased motion in your joints, to reducing pain, to even reducing your level of stress. We strongly believe that with a little extra help, you can become a better, more flexible version of yourself. You might ask why it’s important to have an assisted stretch, rather than just stretch yourself. When you come into Stretch Studio, a trained Flexologist (a.k.a. Stretch Therapist) will help you increase your flexibility using a technique called PNF stretching. Basically, we are trained to help you go deeper into stretches than you could get on your own. We help you relax, and we safely guide your body into stretches that will target all of your tight areas.
